The word “Daksh” means highly skilled. It summarizes in one word the services we are offering at Daksh Netralaya for our patients. In today’s scenario, ophthalmology and eye care is not limited to checking someone’s glass power and performing cataract surgery. There have been rapid advancements in both technology as well as our understanding of eye disease. Daksh Netralaya addresses all these things. Jabalpur is a 2 tier city with approximately 70 eye doctors to choose from. Then why choose Daksh?

This is because Daksh Netralaya combines the use of the latest advancements in technology with the expertise and knowledge of our doctors. Myself and my wife and colleague Dr. Chaitali, have undergone rigorous training in ophthalmology at some of the best hospitals in the country. A perspective like that is necessary to not only address all types of eye diseases but to also learn the art of empathy and compassion. Daksh Netralaya is a superspeciality centre for corneal transplant and retinal surgery apart from being a centre for comprehensive eye care services and high quality cataract surgery. It is a matter of immense pride for me to tell you that we are the only center in Jabalpur and Mahakoshal region to perform all types of corneal transplants, stem cell transplants and mucous membrane grafts. The magnitude of corneal blindness in India is immense, especially in underserved regions like Jabalpur. Most patients are not aware of corneal diseases and are roaming around blind as even general ophthalmologists are unsure of what to do with them. It is our endeavour that our patients will not be required to make long journeys to South India to undergo a treatment which can be easily performed here.
